How to build the one-shot Crossbow loadout in Warzone

The Crossbow is a possible unexpected newcomer to the meta

With the meta being so open in Season 4 of Call of Duty: Warzone, players have begun experimenting with different guns. This has led to some players taking things back in time, equipping weapons from both Modern Warfare and Black Ops Cold War. With the addition of the Fortune’s Keep map, players have mainly stuck with older assault rifles and submachine guns to maximize their success on the close-range map. However, one weapon has recently popped up in the community that is unlike the other popular weapons in Season 4. Players have begun to use the Crossbow in Warzone, which has an intriguing one-shot down loadout.

“One-shot down loadout” refers to the fact that the Crossbow can only down enemies with one shot, not fully kill them. This was a nerf that Raven Software applied shortly after the Crossbow was introduced. The nerf is to simply balance the Crossbow so that players can’t use it as an immediate killing machine. Still, even with this feature, the Crossbow has been proven to dominate medium-range gunfights in Warzone with the right loadout.

To see the full loadout for the Crossbow in Warzone Season 4, keep reading below.

The one-shot Crossbow loadout in Warzone

  • Cable: 28-Strand Cable
  • Bolt: FTAC Fury 20″ Bolts
  • Optic: VLK 3.0x Optic
  • Perk: Sleight of Hand
  • Arms: XRK Thunder 200 Lb

The No. 1 issue with using the Crossbow in Warzone is that it does not excel at all in close-range. Players will quickly discover that if they try and use the weapon closer than 10-15 meters, they will not survive the gunfight. This is due to the fact that the Crossbow can only shoot one bolt at a time and has a slow reload time even when using Sleight of Hand. So if players can keep their gunfights at longer range, they can succeed with the Crossbow. Of course, accuracy is key, and players will want to aim for the upper-body to secure those one-shot kills.
