TSM to sign Leviathan? B0i’s role on 100 Thieves – Geddes’ VALORANT Mail Room #3

TSM have a new player
This article is over 3 years old and may contain outdated information

This is the third installment of the George Geddes’ Mail Room, a bi-weekly article series that will answer questions from Twitter regarding VALORANT news.

With the VALORANT Championship Tour Stage 3 well underway, there are some teams looking to make changes prior to the next event.

Across North America and Europe, fans have seen the best teams in the world face off against each other with the latest meta. With KAY/O on the horizon, the teams that didn’t qualify for Challengers 1 have already added him to their Agent pool.

TSM’s next move

North American organization TSM have trialled several players for Taylor “drone” Johnson, as Upcomer reported on Monday, July 5.

One of these players was former Built by Gamers starter Tristan “Critical” Trinacty, who did not participate with his team during the recent VCT Stage 3 Challengers 1 Open Qualifier.

But, TSM have set their sights set on Noble player Aleko “Leviathan” Gabuniya, following my report that he has also practiced with the side. He will replace drone and will likely be announced prior to VCT Stage 3 Challengers 2, as first reported by VLR.gg, which Upcomer can confirm.

100 Thieves

I haven’t been told of any roster changes on 100 Thieves. They look solid and it’s extremely unlikely they will change their roster since they’ve performed well in recent matches.

But former Andbox player Aaron “b0i” Thao will be assisting the side as an analyst following his listing under the roster on Battlefly, as Upcomer reported on Wednesday, July 7.

But he would likely fill in for the roster in the event of an emergency.

Notable free agents

From these free agents mentioned, I haven’t been told of any joining a roster. But VCT Stage 3 Challengers 2 doesn’t begin until later this month, so teams have significant time to practice with a new player, if they choose to do so.

Former XSET player Zander “thwifo” Kim is in-demand, however, according to one source.

Who’s going to qualify next?

With VCT Stage 3 Challengers 1 well underway, I believe 100 Thieves, Sentinels, Gen.G and XSET will be the most likely four to qualify, but the Kansas City Pioneers also look solid.

Honestly, anybody can beat anybody in North America right now, maybe except for Sentinels.

LAN

The most important factor is the level of cases in the specific area. But, in general, most in-person LAN events will likely return by the end of the year.

I’m hopeful for the future, but COVID-19 cases have risen in certain countries, so be sure to get vaccinated.

More orgs joining?

While I’m yet to be told of any new organizations entering the mix, the esport continues to develop and grow. This will only incentivise investors and organizations to enter VALORANT.

Dicey

I’ve not been told of Quan “dicey” Tran moving to another team.

Since he’s under contract with 100 Thieves, his buyout may be too high for some organizations. However, this is just speculation.

I believe he’s being wasted on the inactive roster, he’s an incredible talent that should be starting on a tier one roster, that is undeniable.
