This article is over 5 years old and may contain outdated information

In a post on his Instagram profile, Mihael “Mikyx” Mehle shared a photo of his team from the League of Legends LEC finals in Rotterdam. Under the picture, the 20-year-old G2 support added a caption in which he expressed the feelings he felt during and after the finals. More importantly, he shared his doubts about playing at the 2019 Mid-Season Invitational.

The Rotterdam finals

At the start, MikyX talked about the happiness he felt as his family came to see him at the finals, and that the trophy means so much to him after three years of hard work. Thanking his G2 teammates for helping him lift the trophy both physically and metaphorically, he went on to talk about the joy and excitement he felt during the finals.

Unfortunately, what followed these emotions wasn’t as pleasant as one might think. MikyX explained it as “a mix between sadness and realization of how long the grind had been.” He reminisced on his time with Splyce, where they made the finals and he thought it could only go up from there. Regret and self-doubt were mixing together as he wasn’t certain if risking an injury was worth it. He wasn’t sure if not taking more breaks was the reason he finally succeeded or just the cause of his injury.

Adding up to that, he said that after the adrenaline rush calmed down, exhaustion took over. He felt exhausted and far less excited than he expected to be after such a huge win.

The Mid-Season Invitational

Finally, MikyX touched on the subject of MSI. He wrote it had always been his dream to play at MSI, but he has doubts he will be able to play. That is due to his ongoing wrist injury preventing him from playing as much as he’d like to. He also points out he sees healing and recovery as the number one priority. To conclude, he adds that he will give it his all no matter what. He also comically remarks that it might not take him another trophy to post the next post on Instagram.

We wish MikyX the best of luck in his recovery and hope to see him back with G2 soon.
