The Call of Duty League is down two casters after the past two weeks have revealed some disturbing things. Earlier in July, Activision released European caster Philip “Momo” Whitfield after proof of sexual misconduct surfaced. And just yesterday, the company also let go fellow EU caster Ben “Benson” Bowie, allegedly for the same reason. Benson sent out a tweet explaining his release but didn’t go into detail due to advice from his legal counsel. However, reports are revealing accusations against Benson for sexual misconduct during his time as a Call of Duty caster.
Benson released from CDL employment
The news of Benson’s parting with the Call of Duty League isn’t surprising. He has been absent from broadcasts for the entire month of July, signaling that something was amiss. Some in the community guessed it was due to similar reasons for Momo’s dismissal, though nothing was concrete.
However, right before Benson sent out his tweet, Call of Duty player Emilia Rose, who made one of the initial accusations towards Momo, stated the reasons behind his ousting. You can see Benson’s tweet and Rose’s Reddit post below.
Hey friends, in case it is not clear, I'm no longer with Activision & the CDL! Unfortunately I cant say much due to advice from legal council (that should tell you everything)
What I can say is, the past week has been the best week of my life, hands down. More info coming soon!

The other caster that Rod “Slasher” Breslau leaked as being fired for sexual misconduct was infact Benson.

Should the Reddit post be true, Benson is obviously in some kind of legal trouble with Activision. Whether he sought out legal advice for his termination or to prove that any accusations are false is unclear.
Adding to the speculation is esports insider Rod “Slasher” Breslau, who believes that Benson is indeed being fired for sexual misconduct reasons. The insider spoke about an “unnamed” caster being let go for the same reasons as Momo, which we know to be Benson according to Rose’s Reddit post.
Of course, none of this is official as the two parties haven’t confirmed the information. Presumably, Benson will speak out when his legal team advises him to do so. Until then, we won’t know anything for sure.
