The esports organization FlyQuest has revealed its new initiative to plant more trees. The latest reveal, TreeQuest, will focus on planting trees for certain milestones in the League of Legends Champion Series (LCS). This year, FlyQuest has been making moves to rebrand itself as the ecologically oriented esports brand.
FlyQuest’s new Go Green initiative
The new initiatives are led by FlyQuest’s new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Tricia “Megumixbear” Sugita. Megumixbear replaced the former CEO, Ryan Edens. Edens has transitioned from his role as CEO to now becoming FlyQuest’s president. The Go Green initiative is the first in a series of upcoming initiatives led by Megumixbear. The main focus of the organization throughout 2020 will be to do more for the environmental issues the world faces.

Planting trees for milestones in the LCS
TreeQuest, FlyQuest’s next step of the Go Green plan, has the organization donate money for trees to be planted all around the world. The organization plans to give one tree for every kill the team gets in the LCS. Besides this, 10 trees will be donated for every ocean drake killed by any team in the LCS. The final milestone the team is donating for is a hundred trees for each game win the FlyQuest LCS roster gets going forward.
The donations will go to the OneTreePlanted organization. OneTreePlanted is a Vermont-based non-profit organization that is dedicated to planting trees all around the planet. More recently, OneTreePlanted is also working to reforest the parts of Australia that have been impacted by the wildfires. Each tree planted costs $1, and anyone can donate to the cause.
What is next for FlyQuest?
Besides the new TreeQuest initiative, the announcement blog also included a teaser for the organization’s plans for Earth Day. Earth Day is April 22, where it is expected that members of the LCS team will be planting trees themselves to help reforestation.
The LCS continues later today, Jan 25, with FlyQuest playing at 2 a.m. CET / 5 p.m. PST / 8 p.m. CST. For more news surrounding the LCS, be sure to read all about Gabriella “LeTigress” Devia-Allen joining the LCS broadcast team.
