Faker’s T1 journey continues

After the 2019 Worlds ended disappointingly for the T1 team, many fans questioned whether his time was up. However, T1 has shown that they intend to keep Faker for as long as they can and keep on building the team around him. T1 CEO Joe Marsh said the following in a statement about the new deal:

T1 is thrilled to have Faker on its roster for the next three seasons. Since T1’s inception, Faker has been the cornerstone of our team’s success and his undying passion for this organization will continue to drive us forward now that he is a part owner of T1 Entertainment & Sports.

In addition to playing, the veteran player will eventually transition into a leadership role whenever he retires, to help shape the next generation of esports athletes. Faker shared his excitement to continue to play for the organization and thanked fans for their immense support. He reiterated the goal to help build the future of the organization.

With this deal, Faker joins TSM’s Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg, who is also a player and part owner of his team. T1 recently defeated Gen.G in the LCK with Faker dying just once in the entire best-of-three series. T1 faces DragonX, who leads the LCK table and will once again look to Faker to lead the team to victory. As his historical journey in League of Legends esports continues, T1 will look to break more records with him in the organization.
