YouTube streamer Guy “Dr DisRespect” Beahm has yet again riled up the gaming community, this time making a bold claim against upcoming Call of Duty title Modern Warfare II.
In a recent YouTube live stream, a fan asked the Doc what he thought about the recent Modern Warfare II gameplay reveal. The reveal showcased a snippet from a Campaign mission called “Dark Water.” It’s safe to say Dr DisRespect wasn’t thrilled with what he saw; he called the showcase unimpressive and even stated that his studio’s current FPS game could blow it out of the water.
“You talk about looking at an engine that’s really on its last legs, that engine feels outdated,” he said. “I’d like to talk about the reveal, unimpressive. I think they’re just going to have to knock it out of the park with Modern Warfare II [multiplayer] gameplay. I was not impressed.”

The Doc didn’t mince his words when speaking about the recent trailer. Some members of the community called him out for his statements, though, saying that the MWII gameplay trailer was from pre-alpha footage. This might make it slightly unfair to judge, as the final product of the game has yet to be revealed. However, he went further and said that the game he’s currently working on looks better than MWII.
“I could take a screenshot of our game right now, in-engine, and I don’t think anything from there [MWII reveal] could match that screenshot,” Dr DisRespect said.
Earlier this year, Dr DisRespect revealed that the game development studio he founded, called Midnight Society, was developing a AAA FPS title. The free-to-play game will feature PvP, battle royale-style gameplay built in Unreal Engine 5. The studio houses big game development talent, such as Robert Bowling, the former Infinity Ward community manager. Infinity Ward is currently developing Modern Warfare II. Dr DisRespect himself is also a former Call of Duty employee, as he was a map developer and community manager for Sledgehammer Games. He worked on titles like Modern Warfare 3 and Advanced Warfare.
No gameplay from Midnight’s Society title has been showcased yet. Time will tell if Dr DisRespect can put his money where his mouth is. For now, we await further gameplay from Modern Warfare II’s multiplayer and possibly the first look at Midnight Society’s game sometime in the future.
