With our second day of ESL Katowice for Dota 2 at its end, it’s surprising just how little has been revealed so far. Only half of the teams have locked in their spot for this weekend’s playoff bracket, and just two teams have definitely been eliminated. Even seeding remains up in the air, as Gambit and Team Secret battle for the top of Group A with 7-1 scores each.

Today, both groups proved that none of the teams were invincible, with no unbeaten team left across the tournament. Chaos Esports Club took one squarely on the cheek as Ninjas in Pyjamas' Adrian “Fata” Trinks tore them up with his 22/1/13 Night Stalker, while Fnatic became the latest victims of compLexity’s unorthodox picks and playstyle.

In Group A we saw Mineski fall from solid mid-table contender to fighting for survival. None of their Day One fire seemed to have carried through, with no signs of life shown against the bracket topping Gambit and Team Secret.

Meanwhile, in Group B, Alliance’s woes continued as they failed to secure anything remotely resembling a winning record. Along with For The Dream, their tournament chances dissolved with a particularly poor loss against an unimpressive Aster.

Tomorrow we find out for sure who’ll make it to the round of eight. We’re set for two life-or-death battles for the final bracket spot, with Mineski taking on Forward Gaming and Aster taking on complexity.

Do you think there will be more clear favorites on the next day of play?
