Valve has plans to release a slew of major bug fixes update prior to The International 2019 (TI9). The Dota 2 developer has announced that it will be performing an extensive game bug clean-up called “The Summer Scrub 2019” to get the game in “good shape” before the event. Developers will pay attention to bug reports and suggestions for improvements.
Previously, Reddit users noticed a large number of errors and issues, so this is certainly a good move on Valve’s part. With just less than two months before TI9, this is a necessary step to avoid any game-breaking issues during the event. TI9 is the epic Finale of the Dota Pro Circuit and involves the biggest and brightest names in the professional Dota 2 scene.
The hype for the tournament and the final prize pool keep on increasing every day. The fans are getting excited for new content releases like Tiny prestige item and the much-anticipated Invoker Hero Persona. While it mainly focused on the Summer Scrub, the update did also reveal the release date of that latter item.
Summer Scrub details
The developer has sought help from the community for the Summer Scrub, asking them to put on their “bug-hunting hats”. You might have faced some bugs yourself, like being unable to listen to all of your friends or other people in your party, unable to see you or your friends’ profiles fully loading, unable to chat in regional public channels, and so on. Valve definitely needs to address these bugs before the TI so that everyone can enjoy the event to its fullest. As such, make sure to report them to the developers so Valve can, hopefully, address them in the update.
Valve also plans to add quality-of-life improvements in this update. The developers want feedback from the community on this as well. As they say in their post, “if you have any ideas please don’t hesitate to share.”
Invoker Hero Persona
Alongside the Summer Scrub details, Valve also took a moment to talk about the new Invoker Hero Persona. It will be available on July 19 to all players who have crossed the 305 level mark in Battle pass TI9.
On February 1, 2018, Valve had released the Spring Cleaning update, which included numerous user interface improvements and bug fixes. Prior to this, similar updates have been released since 2014. We’ll have to wait and see what all the Summer Scrub fixes up. Stay tuned to Daily Esports for all the latest on that, as well as other Dota 2 news!
