Dignitas sign hallzerk, reportedly in talks with friberg, f0rest, Xizt

North American esports organization Dignitas have reportedly acquired AWPer Håkon “hallzerk” Fjærli for its future Counter-Strike: Global Offensive roster, according to a report by Jarek “DeKay” Lewis. The team is also in talks with some of the best in the scene, including former OpTic Gaming player Adam “friberg” Friberg, Fnatic player Richard “Xizt” Landström, and Ninjas in Pyjamas player Patrik “f0rest” Lindberg. If this news is true, Dignitas will still need to find one remaining player to finish the roster of five minimum.

Recruiting friberg, f0rest, Xizt

The only seemingly confirmed signing for Dignitas is hallzerk, who currently plays for Norwegian esports organization Nordavind DNB. However, it is expected that hallzerk will be a trial player, as his past CSGO experience has only been in the B and C tier scene. While he has performed well with Nordavind at various events, one cannot compare hallzerk to the likes of the other three players.

Friberg ended his role with Danish esports organization Heroic at the end of August. However, both players f0rest and Xizt currently have contracts with their teams. Fortunately, Dignitas has shown they have the money needed to purchase the players, as they recently gave a 2-year contract extension to League of Legends top laner Heo “Huni” Seung-hoon for $2.3 million. Xizt is also currently an inactive player on the Fnatic roster, which may make the process easier.

Dignitas re-enters CSGO

With Dignitas’ prior experience in the first-person shooter title, the addition of Xizt, friberg, and f0rest all on one team is smart. The three players achieved 87 consecutive offline wins at one point, among other achievements at Majors. The Newark organization’s Counter-Strike roster in 2015 also included four players of the now-Astralis roster, which currently ranks at #1 in the world.

Dignitas has owned a female CSGO team since 2017, but they dropped the previous men’s CSGO roster in August of 2018 due to poor performance. Who might Dignitas pickup for their fifth player? What ranking would you give this team? Let us know about your opinion, and keep up with Daily Esports for all of your CSGO coverage.
