Overwatch League franchise Dallas Fuel assistant coach Justin “Jayne” Conroy announced he would be leaving his coaching position and become a content creator instead. The transition will take place on Dec. 1, so there is enough time for another coach to be brought on and fill his soon-to-be-empty role. However, Jayne will not be leaving the Dallas Fuel as he is creating content with the Fuel’s parent organization, North American esports organization Team Envy.

Jayne as content creator
Jayne is a Canadian coach and content creator. The 26-year-old initially started working as a coach for Overwatch Contenders organizations like Pantheon Esports and Tainted Minds. He then joined the Dallas Fuel in July of 2018. Jayne has also served on the committee of Team Canada for the Overwatch World Cup in 2018 and 2019.
Other than his competitive career, he has also produced content for the professional and amateur scene in Overwatch. This includes YouTube videos with topics that range from coaching tips to analysis of gameplay for Overwatch players trying to improve their skills. In addition, he founded an organization named Elo Hell Esports, which helps the community by hosting content workshops.
In Jayne’s new position, Team Envy will leverage his experience. It hasn’t been disclosed whether he will also be covering other esports teams that are owned by the Envy. The recently launched Call of Duty franchise Dallas Empire is located in the same facility where he will be based.
Dallas Fuel in Overwatch League
His absence doesn’t leave the Fuel without direction, though. Head Coach Aaron “Aero” Atkins and Assistant Coaches Mingyu “Vol’Jin” Kang, Louis “Tikatee” Lebel-Wong, and Julien “daemoN” Ducros still remain on the roster as they head into the 2020 Overwatch League season.
