CWL London day number two has wrapped up, but it’s nowhere close to being forgotten. Unlike on Friday, Saturday was filled with memorable moments – good and bad – from multiple matches. The pinnacle of these moments came between Luminosity and FaZe in the Losers Bracket.
While the match between LG and FaZe was the highlight of the day, there were still many other interesting matches throughout the day. From the craziness of the London crowd to the dominating performance of a previous event winner, day 2 was the peak of Black Ops 4.

Here’s everything that happened on the second day of CWL London:
 FaZe drops to Luminosity and the officials
Let’s start with the biggest event of the day. In Losers Bracket Round 2, FaZe Clan matched up with Luminosity after dropping to OpTic Gaming. Everything started out innocent enough. FaZe took the hardpoint handily, then LG matched with a great Search and Destroy map.
However, it’s in the Control where our controversy took place. Set on Seaside, the squads went back and forth for the first four rounds. Tied up at 2-2, the match went into sudden death, with FaZe on the offensive side. It came down to a two versus two on the final Control point, which eventually turned into a one-man advantage for FaZe.
As FaZe was capping the Control point, Luminosity player Slacked Gravity Slammed both FaZe players on the point. Just about simultaneously, the FaZe players were killed as they completed capturing the Control point.

On screen, it did say that FaZe’s ZooMaa captured the point, which signals the end of the game. However, the officials ruled that Slacked killed both players before that happened.
Setting the Control match aside, LG went on to win the series 3-2. While LG argued they were mere bystanders to the referee’s decision, both FaZe and the London crowd felt differently. An onslaught of boo’s and choice words were sent to LG the rest of the day until they were knocked out by Envy a round later.
It seems as though MLG will need to take a closer look at how their officiating is handled.

OpTic, 100 Thieves dominate day 2 of CWL London
Most saw these two powerhouse squads advancing to the Winners Finals. Even though 100 Thieves looked rocky against OpTic in pool play, it seemed inevitable they would turn it around.
Both teams annihilated their opposition in the Winners Bracket. OpTic swept both FaZe and Team Heretics, looking the Las Vegas OpTic again. Brandon “Dashy” Otell and Damon “Karma” Barlow led the charge for OpTic, with huge performances in all game modes.
On the other side of the bracket, 100 Thieves started off the day by sweeping eUnited. Their next match against Gen.G was closer, but 100 Thieves pulled it out with a 3-2 victory. They’ll need to figure out something when they match up against OpTic tomorrow morning in the Winners Finals.
Matches start at 5:00 a.m. ET tomorrow, but the headline match of OpTic vs. 100 Thieves begins at 10:30 a.m. ET.
