The StarLadder Major Main qualifier now has its final participants after the conclusion of the StarLadder Minor Play-in today. This event was a second chance for third-placed teams at each respective Minor to get into the Major. There were three slots available, with one team failing to make it to the Major.
North was considered one of the favorites to win this small tournament considering the other teams it was up against and the stacked nature of the Europe Minor. In the bracket, North would play against MVP.PK, a Korean team that finished third in the Asian Minor. Both maps were extremely close, but North eventually won both Nuke and Inferno 16-10. Therefore, North won the series 2-0 and secured its place in the StarLadder Major.
By contrast, INTZ was another favorite to take the event. However, INTZ took an initial stumble as the team lost to DreamEaters, which finished third in the CIS Minor. The first map was a stomping by DreamEaters, resulting in a 16-6 scoreline. However, in one of the worst chokes so far in the Major qualifier, DreamEaters lost 11 match points in a row to eventually lose 19-15 in overtime. However, the team bounced back after this embarrassing loss and beat INTZ 16-12 on the final map.
INTZ had to beat MVP.PK to secure its place in the Major, the loser would go home. Although this match was also close, INTZ managed to clutch the victory in two maps, taking the series 2-0 and booking themselves a spot at the Major.
