The best team in the world continue its form after beating ENCE in the final. Team Liquid beat ENCE 3-0 convincingly in a best-of-five match. Team Liquid has won $125,000 and are now one step closer to winning $1 million as IEM Chicago was the first event in the Intel Extreme Masters Season 3.
In the opening match, Team Liquid quickly dispatched of EnVy 2-0 in a best-of-three. Both maps was extremely dominant for the North American side. On the first map Vertigo, Team Liquid only dropped a single round, thereby winning 16-1. This form didn’t slow down, as Team Liquid thrashed EnVy 16-6 on Mirage.

However, G2 gave Team Liquid a difficult task in another best-of-three. The French side managed to take the first map Dust2, which is the first map lost by Team Liquid since ESL One Cologne 2019. However, Team Liquid would turn the tides around as the North Americans beat G2 on both Overpass and Inferno, thereby taking the series 2-1.
The semi-final was next. Team Liquid would be facing off against rival Vitality in another best-of-three. Dust2 was grueling, with Team Liquid eventually winning the map 16-11. Furthermore, Team Liquid would continue to show its dominance after the team won the second map 16-9 on Overpass. Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken stole the show, and was Team Liquid’s best player.
Finally, the North Americans would end the tournament on a high by beating another one of the worlds best in ENCE. The Finnish would not pose a threat to the on-form side as Team Liquid dominated the first two maps. Team Liquid won Overpass 16-2 and then won Nuke 16-3. However, Inferno would be especially close toward the end. Team Liquid eventually won the map 16-14 after a 1v1 clutch by Jake “Stewie2k” Yip.
