Team Liquid has won the Intel Grand Slam Season 2 after their victory at ESL One Cologne. Their win today, combined with their wins at the other four tournaments hosted by DreamHack and ESL, gets them an extra payout.

By winning ESL One Cologne, IEM Sydney, DreamHack Masters Dallas, and the ESL Pro League Season 9 Finals, Team Liquid wins an additional $1 million. This is in addition to the $125,000 they earned by winning Cologne.

The Season 1 winner, Astralis was knocked out by Vitality, who eventually lost to Team Liquid at ESL One Cologne. Astralis won Season 1 after the team defeated Team Liquid at the ESL Pro League Season 8 Finals.

The North American side took down Vitality 3-1 in the best-of-five grand final. Team Liquid began strong on Overpass, winning 16-6, before falling in a close overtime game on Dust2. Inferno was relatively close, as Team Liquid edged out the victory 16-10. To finish, Team Liquid thrashed Vitality 16-8 on Mirage.

Team Liquid have looked extremely strong since the addition of Stewie “Stewie2k” Yip and coach Eric “adreN” Hoag. However, the stand-out performers of ESL One Cologne were Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken and Jonathan “EliGE”

Jablonowski. The team has slowly been rebuilding to ensure the team keeps improving.

Team Liquid are currently considered the best team in the world, and will look to continue its reign at the upcoming Starladder Major 2019 from August 28-September 8.
