Team Vitality is up against an unexpected opponent in the Esports Championship Series Season 7 Grand Finals. In a tournament with the likes of Astralis, NRG Esports, and Made in Brazil, FURIA eSports will play Vitality for the championship.

Furia clawed their way to the top against all odds, taking down one of the best teams in the world, Astralis, twice. They also defeated a solid North 2-0 in the semi-finals.

Vitality and Furia play fast-paced, aggressive Counter-Strike, and are currently red-hot. Both teams can wreak havoc using an AWP, with Vitality’s Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut and Fruia’s Andrei “arT” Piovezan using the rifles to deadly effect.

ZywOo is regarded as one of the best players in the world right now and has showed it at the ECS Season 7 Finals. He almost single handedly won multiple games for Vitality using his sharp tactics and aim to outsmart his opponents.

ArT, on the other hand, always ends up in the right place at the right time. This utility lets the rest of his team shine, especially on Counter-Terrorist sides where the team leaves him in his own part of the map to create the space they need.

In a head on head fight, ZywOo is likely to win. However, if arT can keep him at bay, Furia still has hope.

The map pool will also be crucial, especially since Furia is favored in this regard. They have performed well on Vitality’s best maps so far, Nuke, Inferno, and Overpass. Meanwhile, Vitality don’t play Vertigo or Train, and have been very shaky on Mirage. Due to the veto system, Furia can force Vitality to play at least one of those three maps, which could give them at least one win in the bag.

It will still be an uphill battle for Furia, despite the map advantage, as Vitality are considered one of the best teams in the world for a reason. With ZywOo on a rampage, they are difficult to stop.

Still, Furia did defeat Astralis, so they have what it takes to pull off an upset. If they can work their magic yet again, it will even prove their success hasn’t been a fluke, earning them a spot in the upper echelons of Counter-Strike.

I am also a very competitive person - this helped me discover esports and I have been living it ever since, following all the big games and even having a short pro career of my own. However, sticking to one game just wasn't for me, so now I spend my time soaking in all things esports, occasionally streaming myself and hanging ou @kelman112
