Halloween is just around the corner and Valve has decided to bring about some pleasant changes in the newest Halloween update! Not only that but a bunch of exciting Cobblestone changes have been implemented.
Ghosts, chicken zombies, and pumpkin soccer balls!
That’s right. In Flying Scoutsman, Demolition, and Casual modes you now turn into ghosts upon death! Not only that, but you can also apply graffitis and scare the living heck out of players that are still alive! Additionally, chickens can be found on all non-competitive matches and can be turned into zombies. This time, however, chickens also got into the Halloween spirit themselves and wear a scary ghost costume. Who knew that the little creatures in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive would become such focal points of updates?
What’s more, two pumpkin balls that can be interacted with spawn on each map instead of the classic soccer balls found on some maps such as Dust2.
Cobblestone gets a remake…Halloween style
After Cobblestone left the competitive map pool, Valve has been working on applying changes to the map. It looks like Gaben and co. are using the Halloween update as an opportunity to test out the brand new layout changes. However, there’s a twist as the map also features a very distinct Halloween theme. You can check out the video below to see the changes.
While the map looks fantastic (just look at that bonfire!), it is hard to test it out in terms of competitive play. Much of the features such as coffins, the bonfire, and decorations will surely be removed in due time. Only then can players test the map out properly and give proper feedback on whether the changes implemented are positive or rather negative.
Below are the changes implemented into the map (apart from the Halloween deco):
– Removed connector between Long A and Underpass
– Blocked long view angle from Long A CT side towards courtyard
– Decreased height of doors in Underpass
– Added window in Underpass
– Removed slanted door leading into Underpass
– Removed a large section of old Bombsite A courtyard
– Moved up Bombsite A zone towards ramp
– Removed access to most of T spawn area
– Moved up T spawn positions
– Added climbable props in dropdown
– Added cover in corridor leading to Bombsite B platform
