HLTV’s weekly Counter-Strike: Global Offensive ranking changes bring about some major shuffles in this week’s ranking. Most notably, Complexity have broken into the top 30 after their recent showings at BLAST. MAD Lions and Godsent also rose notably in the ranking this week following their performance at ICE Challenge.
#28: Complexity enters the top 30
There was, and still is, a lot of hype and uncertainty about this new CSGO roster. On the one hand, the new team composed of up-and-coming talent in the form of Owen “oBo” Schlatter was put into an international medley with the likes of William “RUSH” Wierzba from the Major winning Cloud9. The roster combines the best of both worlds, and it seems to be the perfect combination going forward.
Complexity defeated the Danish giants Astralis as well as Mathieu “ZywOo”s Vitality at BLAST Premier Spring Series 2020. Both matches went Complexity’s way with a 2-0 scoreline in a best-of-three matchup, granting them a ticket to the BLAST Premier Spring 2020 Finals. Two phenomenal upsets put the team on everyone’s radar, making them break into HLTV’s top 30 ranking.

#18: Godsent move up six slots
Godsent made it to the semi-finals of the recent ICE Challenge in London, United Kingdom. The revived European mix, led by Kevin “kRYSTAL” Amend, caused a massive upset by defeating ENCE in a swift 2-0 fashion. They also defeated Virtus.pro in the quarter-finals.
Their dream of reaching the final was short-lived, however, as Aleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev’s Natus Vincere was too tough of an opponent to handle, ending their journey at the semis. Nevertheless, it was a more-than-decent showing by Godsent, propelling them into place number 18 on the ranking.
#12: MAD Lions close in on top 10
The MAD Lions are probably the biggest surprise of the past couple of months. The team has steadily climbed the ranking, picking up steam along the way by dealing with both their Danish rivals and international opponents. Similar to Godsent, their four-slot increase comes off of their performance at the ICE Challenge and reaching the semi-final.
This team, however, was defeated by the winners of the tournament, mousesports. They also gave their rivals quite the battle, making the best-of-three a 2-1 victory for mousesports. With how things are progressing for MAD Lions, the team seems ready to break into the top 10. Perhaps a successful outing at IEM Katowice will be their ticket to enter.
