As the next Call of Duty is confirmed to be Modern Warfare, it looks like the following Call of Duty will be a reboot of the Black Ops franchise. The most recent iteration in the series was Black Ops 4 in 2018.
According to LongSensation, Call of Duty 2020 will be named either Call of Duty: Black Ops or Call of Duty: Black Ops V. The game is expected to be set during the Cold War era including the Vietnam and Korean War. Therefore, the time-span of the game could be from 1947 with the beginning of the Cold War till the end in 1991.
The original Black Ops was also set during the Cold War, following CIA operative Alex Mason. As Captain Price is returning in Modern Warfare, potentially Alex Mason could see a return in Black Ops 2020.
LongSensation accurately predicted the title of the Call of Duty: 2019 game Modern Warfare back in May.
