At long last, Call of Duty: Mobile will soon hit the (virtual) shelves in western markets, according to a recent blog post from Activision. After the free-to-play CoD port saw a limited release in Asia last year, Activision announced in March that it would soon be available to western customers.

Cod: Mobile won’t be a direct port of any specific title. Instead, it will bring together some of the most iconic elements from past CoD iterations, such as Black Ops and Modern Warfare. Multiple game modes, including Multiplayer and Blackout, will be available to mobile players.

The blog post also includes information about the game’s mobile-optimized interface. Players will be able to adjust their camera’s field of vision, touch screen sensitivity, and toggle between “simple” and “advanced” controls.

This isn’t the first time Call of Duty fans will be able to play first-person shooter on the go. In the past, various forms of Call of Duty have been available for handheld systems, such as the PlayStation Portable and Vita, iPhone and iPod Touch, and Nintendo DS. But CoD: Mobile is gearing up to be the most comprehensive mobile version of CoD yet.

To sign up for CoD: Mobile beta testing, head over to the pre-registration page—and make sure you have an iOS or Android phone that will be compatible with the game.
