Can Dashy overcome previous demons with the Huntsmen in 2021?

Yesterday, the Chicago Huntsmen announced that Brandon “Dashy” Otell is joining the team for the 2021 Call of Duty League season. This move surprised very few in the community, as Dashy has many connections in Chicago. Also, he fills a role that was sorely missed after the Sanderson twins departed. However, some have questioned how Dashy will fit with the Huntsmen outside of matches. He’s obviously friends with the entire team, but his motivation and professionalism have been called into question in the past. Is this something Dashy can overcome in 2021?

Dashy needs to step up for the Huntsmen in 2021

Ever since Dashy came into the professional Call of Duty scene, his character has been brought up several times. Reports of him not caring about practice and showing up late to scrimmages have been a common theme. However, this really boiled over last season when Dashy was with OpTic Gaming Los Angeles.

According to his teammate Kenny “Kuavo” Williams, the new Huntsmen member would routinely show up to practice late. Moreover, his lack of desire to play Modern Warfare was evident throughout the year. This eventually led to him being benched by OpTic in favor of an amateur player.

Kenny recently went live on stream and talked about these issues with Dashy. YouTube channel EsportsTalk compiled those clips in a recent video.

Kenny seems to think that all of this was an effort to get on the Huntsmen roster for 2021. Well, now that has happened — so what can we expect from Dashy? Perhaps playing on a team he wants to be a part of will make him put more effort into practice. Also, the AR slayer is known to prefer Treyarch titles, so that also could play a role in his performance.

Above all else, Dashy needs to prove that he can be a true professional in the CDL. The Chicago Huntsmen are banking on him doing just that.
