Some additional, previously unknown content could soon be on the way in Call of Duty: Warzone Season 5. According to a prominent source within the Call of Duty community, private matches may be arriving in the battle royale sooner than originally thought. While not game-changing, this could open the door for more competitive tournaments to take place and maybe an expansion into esports. There’s no official word on when the private matches could see the light of day in Warzone. All the leaker could say about the subject was “soon.”

Private matches coming to Warzone

This has long been a feature that fans wanted to see in Call of Duty: Warzone. Not only is it a feature in other battle royale titles like Fortnite, but the possibilities with private matches are endless. Content creators could do a plethora of things for the community should private matches arrive.

The feature is also great for adjusting new and veteran players to the atmosphere of the game. If you want to explore the new locations Infinity Ward added, you could do so in a private match. This way you won’t have any enemies on your tail. You could also practice your gun skill with a friend or two in a private lobby if you so desired.

Obviously, this is something that’s useful for everyone. However, we still don’t know for sure that private matches are coming despite leaker @ModernWarzone claiming so. This account has been insanely accurate in the past with leaks regarding Warzone, so his words carry weight.

As the tweet says, private matches could be coming “soon.” There’s no official date as of yet, but many in the community are taking this to mean sometime in Season 5. Perhaps the mid-season update will allow private matches to enter Call of Duty: Warzone.
