The Call of Duty League’s Seattle Surge appear to have made a change to their roster following their poor start to the season. This has resulted in the benching of Ian ‘Enable’ Wyatt. The team struggled to perform at the launch weekend in Minnesota, winning neither of the games they played. Then, at CDL London, they were eliminated from the tournament in the group stages. Although they did manage a victory against the LA Guerrillas in a game five, the Surge were defeated twice by the Dallas Empire.
Enable benched
Enable himself informed fans that he had been benched from the roster while talking to one of his viewers during a stream on Twitch. The flex player did specify, though, that he was benched ‘for the time being.’ This suggests that his team could just be testing out alternative options, so Enable may return in the future. Alternatively, it could just be Enable himself trying to remain hopeful. Only time will tell.
For now, the Seattle Surge will likely replace Enable with one of their substitute players, either Nicholas ‘Proto’ Maldonado or Casey ‘Pandur’ Romano.

The decision to bench Enable may have shocked many Call of Duty fans, as Enable is a popular player with a successful career. In the Black Ops 4 season, Enable won back-to-back events on the 100 Thieves roster at CWL Anaheim and CWL London.
The next event that that the Seattle Surge will attend is the Los Angeles Home Series on Mar. 7. We may well see additional changes to their roster there, and it should be interesting to see how they perform.
