Finnish mobile game development company Supercell announced that the Brawl Stars Championship in 2020 will feature a prize pool of over $1 million. The tournament series is a global competition that is open for all players above the age of 16. It will consist of monthly in-game challenges that will let players advance to regional online qualifier events.

2020 Brawl Stars Championship

Through the regional online qualifiers, players can secure a slot to a monthly in-person finals. These physical events will grant circuit points toward the World Finals in fall of 2020. The Brawl Stars Championships in 2020 will have a base $1 million prize pool provided by Supercell, with the opportunity to include an additional $500,000 through in-game championship offers. 

The 2019 Brawl Stars World Championship took place Nov. 15 – 16 at the Busan Exhibition and Convention Center. Nova Esports took first place after a 3 – 0 victory. Other participants competing included teams like Animal Chanpuru, Tribe Gaming, 3Bears, Spacestation Gaming, and PSG Esports.With a $250,000 prize pool, it was the first international event for the game and had teams from North America, Europe, Latin America, Southeast Asia, Japan, and South Korea. 

To celebrate Brawl Stars’ one-year anniversary, the game is giving away daily cosmetic gifts in the in-game shop. The freemium multiplayer PvP battle title was released in December of 2018, and players can claim a free loot box that will contain things like brawlers, coins, gems, and more every day until Dec. 24.

Further information about the 2020 Brawl Stars Championship will be announced on Jan. 6 and Feb. 5. Nova Esports took the victory in 2019. However, since the mobile esport is more established, other teams may also join.
