A new update is now live in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and it introduces a fresh playlist. Named ‘First Strike,’ this playlist only features the 6v6 versions of the maps Crossroads and Armada. The playable game modes for the moshpit include Team Deathmatch, Kill Confirmed, Domination, and Hardpoint. As presumably the last title update before Season 1 releases on December 10, this playlist is available until Tuesday, December 8. It seems this title update only introduced First Strike, so no bugs or balancing issues for the game as a whole were addressed. Players will likely need to wait until next week for that to happen.

This update seemingly came out of the blue, as Treyarch didn’t drop any hints leading up to the patch. However, it’s likely the developers saw that the community enjoys both Crossroads and Armada Strike. As such, a playlist featuring both of the maps is a nice way to wrap up the preseason.
If you hop into First Strike, the maps will be playable with a variety of modes, as previously stated. Players can vote on what map and mode combination they want just like in the Nuketown ’84 24/7 playlist. This is for both Core and Hardcore, although Hardcore on Crossroads can get a little dicey.
As two of the most well-liked maps in Black Ops Cold War, Crossroads and Armada are terrific 6v6 maps. Objective-based game modes especially shine on Armada, as all of the action is diverted to the middle of the boat. Crossroads, on the other hand, is all-out chaos, as it’s the smallest map in Black Ops Cold War aside from Nuketown.
If you’re trying to grind out camo challenges in Multiplayer, this is a great playlist to hop into. You can easily get Longshot medals on Armada and Point Blank kills on Crossroads. Enjoy the playlist while it lasts!
