Coming back hot from the CSGO StarLadder Major in Berlin, AVANGAR has beaten forZe to win Blast Pro Series Moscow with Dzhami “Jame” Ali at the forefront as the MVP. Being the biggest surprise of the recent Major after reaching the grand finale against Astralis, the CIS team keeps on rolling and it seems like they’re picking up steam.
AVANGAR keep forZe at bay
Being held in Russia, it was great to see two CIS teams make it to the final of the Blast Pro Series Moscow event. Aleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev’s Natus Vincere was the most expected to reach the final and even win the event. However, Na’Vi’s performance was a massive letdown as the third CIS team of the tournament failed to win any of the best-of-one matches.
The final saw the two CIS rivals go all the way to three maps in the best-of-three showdown. Overpass went AVANGAR’s way after a tight 16-13 victory. Inferno saw forZe punch back with a 16-12 score. However, Dust2 went fully AVANGAR’s way after they eradicated their opponents on the map 16-6 in convincing fashion.
Jame finds his form, wins the MVP award
Jame, the AWPer for the AVANGAR side, was on fire in the final. The Russian found his drive at home at the final as he topped his team’s rating on every single map. He received a whopping 1.43 rating according to HLTV’s Rating 2.0 and got the most kills at 70 and the least deaths at 44 on AVANGAR.
When it comes to other members of AVANGAR, Alexey “qikert” Golubev was more than lackluster. Considered to be one of the most talented on the roster, the Kazakh failed to impress at the final, closing his team’s leaderboard on each map.
Yet, as a team, AVANGAR look like an extremely well-oiled machine currently. Bringing Dauren “AdreN” Kystaubayev on board seemed to do wonders for the team as the player’s experience in Counter-Strike is immense. As things stand, AVANGAR are looking fantastic and are definitely a top 10 team.
