Apex Legends Voidwalker event brings new game mode, map changes, more

Respawn is launching another Apex Legends event on Sept 3, just a week after the Iron Crown Collection ended. The new event is called “Voidwalker” and focuses on skirmisher legend Wraith. Like previous events, it will bring new cosmetics, challenges, map changes, and a limited-time game mode.

Like the Iron Crown Collection, the Apex Legends Voidwalker event will reshape Kings Canyon. This time, the Town Takeover will take place in a portion of the map in Shattered Forest. An abandoned research facility tied to Wraith’s past has been discovered there.

Curious players should be able to find lots of lore details and hints in the new area. It will also feature a permanent portal which can be used to land faster from the drop shop, or to re-deploy later on. Respawn has stated these event-based map changes are permanent, so Wraith’s Takeover will stick around after Voidwalker ends.

The event will run for two weeks, giving players the opportunity to complete challenges to earn new cosmetics and game content. You can see the list of challenges below. Six new legendary tier cosmetics, separate from the Apex Legends Voidwalker event, will also be added into the regular pool.

Armed and Dangerous

The Voidwalker event will also feature a limited-time game mode called Armed and Dangerous. Loot will be scarce, and players will only have access to shotguns and sniper rifles. Unlike Solos, which was more of a scaled-down mod, this new mode offers a lot of character and should feel like a different game altogether.

The Apex Legends Voidwalker event begins Sept 3 and runs through Sept 17. The game will also host a Double XP weekend. Players will earn double the experience points for top 5 finishes and wins in matches they play between Sept 6 and 9.
