An old vs. new comparison

VALORANT Episode 4 is now live, bringing with it a new Battle Pass, a new Agent and new competitive balancing adjustments. Bind and Breeze, two of VALORANT’s maps, have also seen some big changes that will shift the way players approach them and create the possibility for new strategies. Here are all the changes coming to these maps, with comparisons between the old and new.

What has changed on Bind?

The two stacked crates on A Short have been changed to a lower stack of boxes. This no longer allows defenders to gain a huge advantage with a one-way smoke.

Furthermore, a new bench has been added to the area further back on A Short, giving attackers a slightly better sightline of the truck on the side of the site.

What has changed on Breeze?

Breeze has seen major changes to both sites. On A Site, the main choke has been widened, with the rightmost wall extended so attackers no longer have to opt into the 50/50 that typically comes with exiting the cave (In this case, 50/50 refers to guessing which side a defender may be hiding on, as previously both could not be checked by the same person).

There is also a new stack of two crates in the cave. This works in favor of both defenders and attackers; it gives both sides some cover should they choose to move up in the cave.

A new, wider crate has been added to the back of A Site, allowing defenders a safer place to fall back to without having to leave the site outright. Furthermore, the pool surrounding the pyramids has been extended to the far wall and the crates that were previously there have been removed. The plant site has also been extended to match the pool extension.

The lever controlling the door on A Site that leads to A Hall also can no longer be used while the door is in motion.

In mid, the curved wall has been moved forward slightly to remove the small pocket.

Big changes have also been made to B Site. A box been added to the pillar to provide more cover around it, especially while planting. A new wall has been added to back site to allow freer movement in cover and a new stack of crates has been added to B Wall, which cuts off certain sightlines from B Main.
