AimGod signs with the Washington Justice

Another former Boston Uprising player gets signed in the Overwatch League. With the recent news of Kristian “Kellex” Keller moving to the Defiant, fans were wondering where his partner would go. Now, the Washington Justice have signed support player Minseok “AimGod” Kwon.

The story of a god

AimGod was originally picked up by the Boston Uprising towards the end of the first season, sharing playing time with Se-hyeon “Neko” Park. After AimGod did well in the time given, Neko got released, making AimGod the main support for the Uprising. The team had a decent start to the second season but collapsed over time. However, AimGod was a consistently good player, mainly sticking to Ana and Moira. His Zenyatta play was what got him known, yet the meta didn’t fit him all of the second season.

At the end of that season, he and some other Boston Uprising players were released. It was rumored that AimGod had never been a favorite of their coaching staff and that he had wanted to be traded. In any case, this release gave him the opportunity to be part of a new team.

Will he fit in the Washington Justice?

The Washington Justice seem to be looking at the San Francisco Shock’s mixed roster and are trying to imitate it, a mix of American and Korean players. Their biggest get over this off-season was main tank Chang-hoon “rOar” Gye, along with some other underrated Korean signings. However, they still have American players like Corey “Corey” Nigra and Ethan “Stratus” Yankel.

On the bright side, AimGod did play with plenty of different nationalities on the Uprising. It shouldn’t be too hard to fit into a team like the Justice. But this signing all matters on how the team will work around him. It seemed like the Uprising wasn’t striving to keep him for their third season. However, if the Justice show that he will be one of their main roster players, a renaissance could be possible.
