Agilities returns to the Toronto Defiant as a content creator

Former Canadian DPS player Brady “Agilities” Girardi has returned to the Overwatch League, joining the Toronto Defiant as a content creator.

Agilities joined the Los Angeles Valiant but was released along with their entire roster and staff for 2021. Fans weren’t expecting him to play in the league, but joining as a streamer was more likely. Toronto Defiant seized the opportunity to help Agilities as a former player and teammate.

Agilities’ path back to the Defiant

At the end of the 2020 season, the Toronto Defiant decided to rebuild. The team released their entire roster, except for Belgian DPS Andreas “Logix” Berghmans. After building around Canadian players Agilities and Lane “Surefour” Roberts, the team finished near the bottom of the league. Toronto wanted to build a Korean roster for 2021, which put Agilities back into free agency.

He wasn’t a free agent for too long, as his original team, the Los Angeles Valiant, re-signed him for 2021. The Valiant picked him up again, hoping to add to their underrated roster. However, everything changed when the Overwatch League announced the new divisions for 2021. The Valiant would be in the East division, playing out of China.

Stating visa issues, the Valiant then released their entire roster and coaching staff, to the shock of fans. This included the recently signed Agilities and Adam “Adam” Soong, who was only on the team for a couple of months. Agilities soon tweeted after that he would stick to streaming for this year, as his chances of playing in the Overwatch League were very slim.

Defiant expand their content creator team

With the signing of Agilities, the Defiant now have three popular streamers linked to them. Their first, Nathan “KarQ” Chan, is a popular content creator, helping players learn more about the game. More recently, community star Francine “Fran” Vo moved from being part of the Atlanta Reign team over to Defiant.

After a difficult situation, Defiant re-signing Agilities has provided him with stability. Hopefully his future with the team will remain bright.
