100 Thieves get their first 2-0 weekend of the LCS season

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

This weekend 100 Thieves were tasked with taking down Dignitas (5-7) and Immortals (6-6). Both League of Legends teams had come out victorious over the Thieves in the first set of LCS games earlier in the split. With results being hit or miss from the team, fans were unsure if the Thieves would be able to do what they had yet to all season — win both games in one weekend.

The previous games against Dignitas and Immortals had been messy. After coming off a 1-1 scoreline the weekend before, there was no guarantee what 100 Thieves we would see. One version was able to stop Evil Geniuses (7-7) in dominant fashion, and the other got completely dominated by Team Liquid (6-7).

100 Thieves start sloppy and end strong

The first game against Dignitas made it appear that 100 Thieves were back to their passive ways. It was a back-and-forth game up until the end with both teams making equally detrimental mistakes. In the end, the Thieves managed to win the last team fight and push their way into the enemy’s nexus.

In the second game against Immortals, the story was much different. The team looked much more comfortable with the way they were playing. Chanho “Ssumday” Kim started the game off with multiple outplays in the top lane, and from there the team was able to snowball. At the end of it all, 100 Thieves managed to take down both Dignitas and Immortals. This brought them their first 2-0 weekend of the LCS season and propelled them to 7-7 in standings. At this time, 100 Thieves are currently tied for 4th with Evil Geniuses.

In the upcoming week, 100 Thieves will be facing Cloud9 and Flyquest. Cloud9 are currently 12-1, and Flyquest are coming off an 0-2 week but are still in 3rd place. This will be yet another chance for the team to show off what they’ve been working on in practice.
