On Nov. 11, Team Solo Mid (TSM) announced that Tony “Zikz” Gray would be stepping down from his coach role. With TSM’s history of making changes, this didn’t come as a surprise after the team failed to qualify for the world championship this year. However, a day later, a more surprising announcement was made that Zikz would be joining 100 Thieves. Alongside Chris “PapaSmithy” Smith, Zikz will work together on the new 100 Thieves League of Legends roster. He will be taking the place of the previous coach, Neil “Pr0lly” Hammad.
Zikz to become 100 Thieves new head coach
There are a lot of rumors going around about which players will be part of the new 100 Thieves roster. One such rumor was made by Mark Zimmerman on the Hotline League podcast, alleging that Greyson “Goldenglue” Gilmer could be joining the roster as the starting mid laner. Additionally, Kim “Ssumday” Chan-ho, the top lane player for the team since 2017, is likely to not be playing on the team in the 2020 season.
At this point, it is likely that Zikz and PapaSmithy will be building their dream team from scratch. Though, there is a possibility that Bae “Bang” Jun-sik could be used as a building block for the new roster. At this point, these are all still considered rumors, though some of the rumors from the podcast have since been confirmed to be true.
What exactly will happen to the 100 Thieves roster going forward is something we will have to wait and see about. However, we will be sure to cover it all on Daily Esports.
